Partington’s Proficiency

School’s finished for the summer and I finally have time to work on art for me!  This is very exciting.  On the train home I drew my version of Alice and my version of the Cheshire Cat.  Enjoy.

I was waiting for an exam to finish and I got bored.  Just a sketch of an Alice-in-Wonderland-esque character.  I tried to edit out the other sketches with Photoshop, but that failed miserably.  Enjoy.

I started and thankfully finished my final painting assignment tonight.  It’s only 2:30 in the morning.  I stopped and took pictures through the stages so you can see how I attempt to build up a painting.  I spent roughly three and a half hours painting, not including the drawing underneath.  It’s acrylic and water colour pencils on a stretched 24″ x 30″ canvas.  And I’m not happy with the outcome, it could have been so much stronger but I’ve been buried up to my neck in final assignments and painting is one of my weakest subjects.  Just thought I’d justify my reasoning. Oh, and the subject is myself as Howard Beale (Peter Finch) in “Network”. Enjoy.

Because I hardly find the time anymore.  I’m also somewhat sad to say I’ve grown further from manga but tonight is the exception.  I drew Nana Komatsu from the manga, “NANA”.  The colour is done with water colour + ink.  Below are filters done in Photoshop.  Enjoy.
