The Damned Bone Portfolio

Animation, Art 1 Comment

It was inevitable.  I could not avoid what I’d been hiding from all semester.  I had to finish my bone portfolio for life drawing.  And here she is in all her cruddy glory.  Extremely disappointed in myself and these drawings.  I’ve vowed to spend more time on assignments next semester.  Apologizes for the crappy image quality (in more ways than one =P)  Enjoy?

Royal Winter Fair

Animation, Art 5 Comments

Last week I spent two days at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto drawing animals.  Our life drawing class requires an animal portfolio.  My drawings range from two minutes to roughly fifteen minutes.  I can’t wait to go back next year.  Enjoy.

Hands and Feet

Animation, Art 4 Comments

I had to put together a hand and feet portfolio for my life drawing class.  We were required to draw 12 hands and 12 feet in different poses; showing an understanding of proportion and structure.  Luckily for me (-_-), I’ve been suffering from one of the worst colds (and fever ;_;) I’ve ever had and put my work off until the last minute.  Point being: both hands & feet drawings are lame.  I could have done so, so much better.  I drew all 24 drawings in six hours.  This was disappointing, considering I love rendering and we’re sworn off shading this year.  Bah.  Enjoy.

Four Weeks Later

Animation, Art 4 Comments

How four weeks of animation have already gone by is beyond me.  Time.  What a bummer.  Below is a bunch of art I’ve been working on in class and some art I’ve been doing on the side.  There’s a lot of work I will post sooner rather than later.  Enjoy.

First Week of Animation

Art 1 Comment

The first week of animation is almost over.  Time goes by too fast!  Today was my first life drawing class of the year and I think we’re all a little (or immensely) rusty.  Mark tells me I have to improve my short hand; I completely and thoroughly agree.  I hope to improve over the year.  Aside from that, this is my favourite drawing from the session.  Enjoy.

Everything is disorganized! One big medieval mess!

Here’s a load of drawings, sketches and a painting from the past five years or so.  Nothing is in order.  Some of the pieces are dated.  I have a lot of old work sitting around that I’ll eventually post.  Enjoy.

The Past Year of Life

Art, Site 2 Comments

My site was down for maintenance for a good twelve hours yesterday so I wasn’t able to write.  This post is a collection of some of my favourite life drawings from this school year.  There’s a lot of progress and problem solving in these.  Please see my other life drawing posts so I don’t have to post repeats. Please note - nothing from my animation portfolio is uploaded.  Drawings are not in any order, and range from thirty seconds to five minutes.  Enjoy.

With portfolio officially finished, I can concentrate on more artwork and updating this blog. Here’s a sketch from my interpretive life drawing class from December 14th, ‘07. Conte on newsprint. Ron is a great model. Enjoy.
